MANVEL/IOWA COLONY (January 27, 2016) – Construction of model homes is underway in Meridiana as the newest master-planned community on Texas 288 begins to take shape.
Located at Texas 288 and the future Meridiana Parkway (now County Road 56), Meridiana is the closest master-planned community to the north of major Brazoria County employers Dow Chemical, BASF, Freeport LNG and the Port of Freeport. The community also is expected to attract those employed in the Texas Medical Center.
Models by Perry Homes, Taylor Morrison Homes and Trendmaker Homes are now under construction, part of the community’s collection of 12 model homes presenting floor plans with gourmet island kitchens and butler pantries, spacious family rooms, inviting master suites, spa-like bathrooms, media rooms and flex rooms for a home office or workout room.
Homesites in Meridiana will range from 50-100 feet in width including those on prized cul-de-sacs and secluded gated sections. Plus, Meridiana homesites will be five feet deeper than those in other master-planned communities.
In addition to Perry Homes, Taylor Morrison Homes and Trendmaker Homes, Meridiana homebuilders include David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, Plantation Homes, Ryland Homes and Shea Homes.
While construction continues on Meridiana’s model homes, a temporary on-site Welcome Center is open daily where individuals can secure information on the community.
The 2,700-acre master-planned community just south of Highway 6 also will offer a sprawling Amenity Village where residents can enjoy an amphitheatre for concerts and plays, resort-style family pool with cabanas and nearby café, kids’ splash pad and a spacious fitness center with on-site personal trainers, spin bikes, free weights and exercise machines. The fitness center also will offer lockers, showers and a kids’ playroom.
The Amenity Village will be home to a glass-walled conservatory set over the water, ideal for receptions and special events, and a fully customized, 40-foot luxury Ambassador’s Yacht where Meridiana dog ambassador Soliel will invite residents to spend the night in honor of a birthday or special occasion.
Families also will enjoy an outdoor game area with giant chessboard, ping pong tables, washer toss, shuffle board and wide open spaces for play.
As part of the community’s unique education focus for every stage of life, Meridiana’s Amenity Village will feature a sky map to track the sun’s movement while the 60-foot Meridian Tower will operate similar to a sun tower by casting a spot of sunlight on the ground that moves as the Earth rotates.
Working closely with faculty of the Alvin Independent School District, the development team also will create engaging learning and discovery experiences, each with dedicated websites, as part of Meridiana’s first phase. Each experience will be designed to fit into the District’s curriculum for students from kindergarten through high school.
