KATY, TX (July 20, 2016) – Four of Houston’s leading custom home builders have been selected for The Estates at Cane Island, the exclusive custom home neighborhood in the Katy master-planned community featuring 22 half-acre homesites with spectacular lakefront views and forested settings.

Jeff Paul Custom Homes, Mike Harrison Custom Homes, Westport Custom Homes and William David Custom Homes, each with decades in the design and construction of luxury custom residences, will begin construction of their first Cane Island custom homes by late summer.  The half-acre homesites start in the low $200’s.

“We carefully evaluated the custom home builders who could deliver on craftsmanship, comfort and technology,” says Beth Naef, custom home sales manager for the new Cane Island neighborhood.  “Each has a distinguished reputation for excellence throughout the Houston area. We’re certainly delighted to bring them to The Estates at Cane Island.”

Home prices in The Estates at Cane Island are expected to start at over $1 million, Naef adds.

Among its many amenities, Cane Island’s gated section of luxury custom homes will feature Houston’s first “Street Pantries” to create a secure and convenient way for online purchases, groceries, dry cleaning and other items to be delivered directly to the home, particularly when a resident is away.   The garage-attached, air-conditioned spaces will be equipped with shelving, a rod for dry cleaning deliveries and electrical outlet for an optional, powered ice chest for storing groceries for an extended time.

As an added convenience, the homeowner will receive a text message when a delivery is made according to a passcode assigned to each service.  User codes can be changed, deleted or programmed to work during a specified time range when a delivery is expected.

The Estates at Cane Island also will feature hundreds of mature trees that will change accent color over the course of the night via a custom tree lighting program.  Streets in the new section also will be lined with illuminated, mature trees.

To reach Cane Island, take the new Cane Island Parkway exit off Interstate 10, head north on the parkway and take the temporary detour into the community.
