KATY, TX (August 1, 2016) – The Katy master-planned community of Cane Island will host several community events in August including a wine tasting, football watch party, barbecue and Movie on the Lawn.
Open to the public, each event will be held at Cane Island’s all-new Amenity Village, 2100 Cane Island Parkway. To reach Cane Island, take the new Cane Island Parkway exit off Interstate 10, head north on the parkway and take the temporary detour into the community.

The Cane Island BBQ Bash is scheduled for Saturday, August 20 from 4 – 7 p.m. when families can enjoy slow-smoked favorites, for a small charge, from Mundy’s BBQ and beer from No Label Brewery.
On Friday, August 26, Cane Island’s Mobile Amenity Center, with its 240 square-foot screen, will broadcast the Katy Tigers opening football game as the defending Texas 6A Division II State Champions begin their title defense at Austin Westlake starting at 7:30 p.m.
Cane Island’s month-long event schedule concludes Saturday, August 27 when its Movie on the Lawn presents Star Wars: The Force Awakens on the community’s giant screen. Free popcorn will be served while lawn chairs and blankets are welcome.
